Margaret Joynton Smith Trophy

Margaret Joynton Smith Trophy will be held in Hunter Ice Skating Stadium on the weekend of 24th and 25th July. MJS was inaugurated some years ago to acknowledge the years of dedicated work by Margaret Joynton-Smith and to provide the Hunter region with a competition which eventually resulted in the conduct of an Australian Championship at Hunter (the latter being very successfully achieved in 2007).

Practice times and cost are as follows:

Friday 23/7/10 3.00pm-4.30pm - Limited to those competing at MJS ISU Levels Only

Saturday 24/7/10 6am-8am - standard figure skating session

Saturday 24/7/10 10.15am - 11.15am Preliminary Ladies, Freeskate 4 (Development Trophy) & ISU Level Novice & Above (to be in line with proposed change of schedule)

Sunday 25/7/10 6am - 11am - MJS competitors who are competing Sunday 25/7/10 only.

Ice time for each session of $10 is payable to the rink.

The sessions will not be divided into levels. There is a music system available for playing of music. All skaters are to wear a fluoro arm band when the music is on and they are doing their programme. In the interests of fairness to all playing of music is to be limited to once per skater per session.
