The Alan Blinn and Simone Moore Memorial Fund was established by NSWISA to honour two of our Administrators and Officials who lost their lives on Sydney Harbour on 28th March 2007. Both Alan and Simone shared a passion for skating and contributed hugely not only to skating in Australia but to skating around the world. Alan was an International Judge and President of NSWISA. Simone, an ISU Championship Judge and International Referee, had been newly appointed to the NSWISA Council. Their legacy will assist future generations of aspiring skaters to further develop their talent and achieve their full potential so that they may realise their skating dreams.

2024 Alan Blinn & Simone Moore Memorial Fund Recipients

Congratulations to the 2024 Alan Blinn and Simone Moore Memorial Fund recipients. They were awarded at the 2024 NSW State Championships.

This year we received many high-quality applications and our Committee had to work hard to assess the merits of each of the development plans. We are excited to see such ambition and understand the pathways and goals of our Members. It was also fantastic to read about how our applicants plan to give back to our sport.

It is with great pleasure that we announce the recipients of the 2024 Alan Blinn & Simone Moore Memorial Fund:

Thank you so much for awarding Anastasiia and me the Simone Moore & Alan Blinn Scholarship last year.

This money has been put towards our training overseas in Canada and has helped us substantially progress our skating.

This scholarship gave us the possibility to be able to train with some of the best pairs skating in the world. These experiences are invaluable.
Being given the opportunity to train with these skaters was incredible. Anastasiia and I learned so much from being around such great skaters and people.

Thank you for helping us achieve our goals and we will continue to train hard and make NSWISA proud.

Renee YUEN As a recipient of 2022 Alan Blinn and Simone Moore Memorial fund, I wanted to thank you for funding this scholarship.
I am enjoying my ice-skating career and I am truly grateful for the support which has allowed me to continue achieving my goals representing Australia. My goal for this year is to compete in the Junior Grand Prix in Osaka, and hopefully be able to have the opportunity to compete in Junior Worlds. Currently I have many extra-curricular activities such as ballet, ballroom dancing and strength training which enables me to further develop my ice-skating. And thanks to this scholarship I am able to continue to do these activities

Thank you again for your scholarship to my ice-skating journey.
